BioI'm a life-long Californian, born and raised in the far Northwest corner of the state in the land also known as the mythical State of Jefferson. I come from an old-time North Coast family, all my great grandparents having arrived in the state by the early 1880s. I have lived nearly all my life on or near the coast at various places between the Oregon border and Big Sur. Growing up as I did in a pioneer family in a remote and isolated small town on the north coast in the 50's and 60's, with grandparents and other elderly relatives close at hand, I developed a strong sense of the presence of the past and an interest in local and family history and genealogy. I have my genealogy data posted online at http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=dberry and have made contact with distant cousins in many parts of the US and Britain through the site.
